(for PS2)
To breifly describe, it is a game that you hit buttons on your controller to unlock musical beats of different songs. There are different tracks you can travel on like drums, vocal, bass, etc. It is a highly addictive game. I love it. YAY Amplitude!

So yup.
I really should get over being scared of scary movies. Like, I watched Constantine by myself today - it was growing dark when I was watching it - and by the end of the movie I had to turn a light on cuz I was too scared to stay in the apartment by myself in the dark. I was sort of proud of myself though, because I only hid my eyes a couple of times during the whole movie.

I contemplated watching Excorist, a movie I have never seen before, afterwards - but thought better of it. I will have to save that until I'm not by myself.

Perhaps my going through and watching the Buffy series will help my fear of scary things - it has violence and uckiness, and if I can watch that without cowering behind my hands, I should be good for more scarier movies.

Went to work today, worked for 9 hours. Have worked 3 nine hour days in a row. Now, in a normal company that wouldn't be bad... but with LQ, managers don't get many breaks... or at least most of the time.. but I DID get a 1/2 lunch break today! Amazing.

Anyway. Was very accomplishing at work today. Not only did I almost fully get caught up with my almost 6.5 hours of tech, but I also got trained on some Monday paper work stuff that fulltime people do, and they are going to be scheduling me to do that more often. And I'm getting quite fast and better at tech too!

Talked to GM today about my future with LQ. As it stands right now, she's going to talk to the Area Manager (who is responsible for all centres across Canada excluding the 4 GTA ones) and they are going to keep an eye out for Operations Manager positions that will be opening up. Crazy. Nan seems to think I'm ready to be put into a fulltime Manager position somewhere else in the company, or at least will be in a few months. Sweet, I guess. Just have to be prepared to move to elsewhere...

Oh, and I got told I was the 'best marshal ever' and 'Outbreak, you rock!' ... lots of high fives and crazy fun today for a custom quest during work. I was the marshal of a few games of LQ for McDonalds staff in Guelph or somethin' . They rock; I wish our staff outings were that much fun!

TV is not for the devil afterall

Well, I've given in. For those who didn't know, I really have not been one in the past to watch tv series. Movies, absolutely. But series... no.
This is about to change. I guess since I'm done school, I can safely watch tv without any lingering guilt of not doing work during that time instead. Whatever. TV is good.

For lack of better things to post about, I'm going to talk about the shows I watch..

HOUSE - Besides having to look away everytime there is an operation or gruesome bloody something or other, this show is great. The humour makes me laugh out loud when I watch it.

SURFACE - Interesting plot so far. Lots of questions, and character interaction. Can't wait to see how the story line continues.

LOST - Have not really watched last season, but this show seems interesting. Left me with lots of questions after watching the premier. Seems promising. I like the flashbacks, as it adds sentimentalness to the characters.

INVASION - Does not seem nearly as good as what Surface does. I may watch one more episode of it before discarding the series next week. Too melodramatic, I think. The character interation seemed predictable, although by the end of the premiere episode I felt they added some twist which made me decide to watch another episode of it.

Also have watched "Martha Stewart:The Apprentice" - This show was just full of stupid arguing and gave me a headache. So I switched to watching the 2 hour premiere of "Americans Top Model". Highly amusing, I may actually continue to watch this show! I think I may pick up on Prison Break, But I haven't seen the first episode. Amazing Race starts next week... I think it will be far worse this season, with the "Family Addition" ... seems like too much crying and whining is about to ensue. I guess we shall see!

Yay me and my TV watching. What can I say, I'm an addict.

So, I've become a gaming addict again recently. It all started with alittle innocent action with Halo 2 for XBOX. Then I got permission from Sean (Darryl's roomie) to borrow one of his memory cards and play whatever PS 1 or 2 games I want. Wow. What an offer! So.. instead of playing FF__, I popped in Star Ocean:Till the End Of Time. What a VERY ADDICTIVE GAME.

So addictive, I decide I want a PS2. I recently aquired an XBOX, so I was thinkin' somewhere like EB Games would switch me the xbox for a PS2, without too much additional fees. pfft! If only. EB will give me $70 for a xbox, and wants $140 (plus taxes of course) for a PS2. I can buy a new PS2 for not much more than that! Bah! And I had hopes and dreams of playing PS2 all day and night...

I want a PS2!!!

Oh well. I'll stick to playing Sean's for now, and pass my time away with that and some TV serieses. And poker online.

So... I worked a lot this weekend. Was supposed to have Saturday off, but one of the new crew did not show up for her first shift, so I got called in by a frantic manager needing someone to cover for the shift. I agreed, even though I had very little sleep the night before. Hectic Saturday, and a hetic manager shift today. I can DEFINITELY tell it is fall - Laser Quest gets insanely busy on the weekends now. Too bad the other managers that do the schedule don't realize this for a Sunday and I get understaffed. Fun times.

I could use a good foot massage, or a nice hot hot bubble bath. Too bad I don't have any bubble solution.. I'm disappointed with that.. I guess I have to go shopping soon for that! And some lotion.. I likes the lotion :)

Can't wait for some well needed relaxation.. although the money is nice, I feel like I need a day off after a long weekend like this.

Cheers all, hope your weekend(s) were better!

Out of it Day

Today was just a weird day for me. Not that anything too crazy went down, mind you, just.. i'm out of it.

To start the day off, I show up to work at 12:50pm. Rounding the corner to the entrance of LQ, I see my mom's car - - I think to myself... ???. I'm abit taken a back. What the heck is she doing in kitchener, and most importantly at my work. I guess she tried calling my cell. My cell has been dead for 24hours, and so I didn't get the call. So she came to my home then work to track me down. She was at LQ waiting for me since noon... which was, coincidently, when I was supposed to be there. I was an hour late. Oops. That's not like me, to think my schedule was different than what it is. So, after telling my mom I don't need any of the shoes or lamps or wine racks that she picked up from a garage sale (don't ask), I rush into work (still thinking I was on time.

Shawn and Nan (the fulltime managers at LQ) are having a bad day. Nan has been having to deal with crew who seem to like to walk all over us with what hours they will or will not work this fall. Shawn is in the process of renovating the cleaning closet at work. The whole front of house is plastered in sawdust. Regardless of their bad days, each of them have no problems with me being late for work - they just sort of laugh. So I clear a spot on the tech bench, and get to work on my pack maintance for this week. Which I apparently thought was week 36. (it's actually week 37). 4 hours of multitasking between my tech work (which is really hectic/hard to complete in the time alloted with just focusing on it alone), helping shawn with cutting wood for new shelving, and answer phones for Nan. Needless to say, I didn't get my tech work done - although I did get a huge portion of it (week 36) done surprisingly.. then I realized after cleaning up my mess that it was week 37. So I actually have done 0 of this week's work in my 4 hours of work today. Damn.

I then agreed to come in at 9am tomorrow morning to answer phones for a couple hours while there is a meeting being held at LQ. Stupid me... how can I get up that early?! Dooming myself to torture tomorrow morning, I head away from work.

I just seem so out of it today. My mind is not in my body. I wonder what else I will do ...
I almost forgot about my food in the oven.
I have picked out dozens more photos to put on my wall, only to realize i will run out of tape again by then end of the night.

Well, still waiting on my futon to arrive - it'll be here next wednesday. A week from today and I'll have all the furnishings in my room! (i hope.. still need to purchase blinds)

This week has been kept busy by Movies on Demand, gettin' my butt kicked in Halo, Laser Quest work, and lookin' after a big fat cat named Lucky (fluffy!!!) I actually went to work 4 hours early today - I thought I worked from 10-2, but infact I worked from 2-5... so when I showed up at work, the first question I got was "What are you doing here?" ... followed immediately with "You look like crap". So I went away for sleep... gah, sleep is good. well needed too.

Now I'm home. I'm bored, and feel kinda like 'meh'.

Yup. So that's an update. Kinda.

oh. and I hate kids. evil kids at all night events especially.

Wow, I'm exhausted. Have worked all week, mostly 8 or 9 hour days, but yesterday and tomorrow i'll be working 11 hours... I like to work, and I'm happy for the hours, but I have not been sleeping much at night, so this work thing is really getting to me. I feel like I should take a nap, but as I lie down, I find it hard to sleep.

Actually finished the triliogy books - Fionavar Tapestry.. its funny, although I really enjoy reading, I always hate when the book actually ends. I want to read more of the characters. Boo to books that end.

My mom has offered to buy me a futon/bed. So I think I'm going to take her up on her offer, and actually get a good nights sleep, and at the same time have a NEW bed for the first time in all the time i can remember. I'm quite excited by that. I am also going to be moving most of my stuff into the new townhouse this Sunday; which means, despite me being totally wiped, I need to pack and be ready to go by then. *sigh* I will get to sleep in some time soon... I'm sure...

All in all, things are not going too bad. Although today has been a bad day. My phone stopped working for 2 hours today, because Telus is dumb with the tornado warning.. not sure exactly WHY it wasn't working, but stupid phones.. Stupid people at work today, and some bad phone calls. Lack of sleep puts me in a bad mood. Took forever to get home - i was tired, so decided to take a cab. The cabbie took longer to get there than i think i've ever waited for a taxi, i could have walked home before he came to pick me up. grr! meh. The day is basically over now though. Time to pack, and to sleep.

Cheers all.

So, I have been wondering for days whether Ian and Kevin had submitted our application to a 3 bedroom townhouse unit at belmont/glasgow. Then, today, out of the blue, I received a phone call. "Congratulations", it said, "Your application has been accepted for August 15th at (address)". Well, imagine my surprise. "Oh! ... That's good news.. we submitted the application" (she laughs at me at this point)... Yup. So we've got to get utils and cable and internet figured out by.. 2 days from now. Excellent. We have a place to live! <worry down="down">. I actually have a place to live.. now I just have to figure out how and when I can move. And get some furnishings. This townhouse is going to be bare..

On other news, I went to watch Fantastic Four tonight. Not a bad movie, had some good humour in it. I didn't know what to expect with the movie, and I was not disappointed.

Umm... I should pack. Instead, I'm going to go play some more online poker. I need to hold poker nights at this new place - it even has a poker table!

Started work this week - my first operations shift is tomorrow.. It's funny, I have been talked to about so much stuff concerning the staff and the operations and stuff; what I've missed, as well as other stuff I have asked about.. I've gone 2 whole (long) shifts of being informed of stuff and taught about technical experience, getting paid to learn and doin' not much else. I love it; I have been inquiring about being technically trained on the packs (maintenance and repair mostly) for the past few months before I left, and now I'm getting to take over the entire maintenance of the packs on my own in just about a week or two. Awesomeness. Plus I get to give more input in matters concerning staff than I had before; I knew about incidents that happened when I was gone while the other assistant manager did not. I feel special :)

Besides work, I've decided to read the Fionavar Tapestry series again - I've already finished the Summer Tree, and am almost done The Wandering Fire already.. Good old Guy Gavriel Kay - I forgot how much I liked these 3 books...

Now on to looking for a place to live, and having good times :)

Last couple days in Europe

I find myself sad that I have to return to Canada, since there are so many things left to see that I never got to...

.. but at the same time, I have been counting down the days to come back again to the 'loo - would love to see everyone again, and to sleep in my own bed and not have to worry about one of the many inhabitants of the current dorm room waking you up either when they come in, or when they leave in the morning.

Europe has been AWESOME. There are very few things i could have done on the trip to make it better; so glad i came.

Today Phil and I take our train ride to Paris, where we're going to spend the few days left that we have over here just enjoying where we are (like we have been the whole trip, i guess, but now we know there's only a short time left.. plus, we've been to paris, so we want to get done a few last things..) Planning to take a night bike tour around paris the very last night we're there... Then go back to our HOTEL in Paris for a hopefully good sleep before heading off to the airport on Saturday.

Oh, and by the by, we're in Geneve right now :) Not really much to say about it - we did see the UN, and the famous huge ass fountain (jet stream of water) they have in the lake. Yup, done and done. Onward to Paris! Then onward to home!

So, we're alive, we're well, and we're coming home soon. Cheers to you all, and see you soon!!

Interlaken... the place where craziness happens

So, I have currently met up with Joe and Anthony, and we've already done amazing adventures so far in our day and a half here in Interlaken.

For those of you who don't know, Interlaken is this crazy place you go to in Switzerland, to do crazy things for crazy amounts of money. I have been saving and going cheap on many things in my trip, so I can spend crazy amounts of money here to do those crazy things.

Such a beautiful view from our villa (hostel, private 4 person room with a balcony) to the surrounding mountains. You can see paragliders and hanggliders land on the park not far from our hostel... Not to give away what we're going to be doing, or yet have done, but hanggliding and paragliding are not the activities we've chosen. (I think what we are doing is cooler...)

Yesterday we did this huge ass hike, above the tree line of some mountains... played in the forest on really cool toys they have.. seen wonderful mountian and glacier views... saw europe's largest in-mountain waterfall... quite a day. By the end of it, I have blisters on the bottoms of my feet, and Phil's throat is sore. Today we're actually taking it easy, to prepare ourselves for tonight and tomorrow...

Unfortanetly, I did lose my camera a couple of days ago, so not as many pictures of these soon to be activities.. but I may buy a waterproof camera for one of them... although i may drop it accidently while we're so high up...

The other activity has be seen on Amazing Race last season.. sooooo cool. hehe. I will soon be to experience it.. i'll let you know the common, and not so common, name for the activity when i get back.. unless you look it up online for activities to do in Interlaken, I doubt anyone will be able to guess what we're up to..

I'm sooooo excited!! ... Tonnes of stories when I get back.

ttyl!

Beer is the Devil

Summary of the past couple of days...

-Chocolate and Beer Museums are my friends
-Amsterdam for the day - Heinekin Experience - drunk drunk drunk. amazing. fun.
-Missed night train, stayed at the train station and airport with no sleep for a night (yay to being stuck in Amsterdam)
-Munich - free walking tour, lots of fun people
-visited 3 different beer gardens yesterday here in munich

oh god. I can not do point form for last night.
Honestly, best and worst night ever.
Had already had 1.5 liters of beer during the afternoon, and decided to visit beer gardens with people met from walking tour. Awesome guys, great stories (more details later, if you poke at me). Bought myself a litre of more local beer. Weisserbier, I think. After that litre, these 2 big buff rich guys from Atlanta join our table of 7 and buy us all a litre of beer each. Downed that one too. Seperated ways for a bit (more stories of that.. this guy Jeff and I got lost of the subway..) then met the rich guys at their hotel for the strongest, largest glass of vodka and orange juice i have ever had. THEN to another beer garden. I bought myself .5 litre this time, I was feeling way too good. Met these German fellows, who, every time I finished mz .5 litre, would fill it up with their beer. Evil guys, they were fun too. I remember downing at least 2 of my .5 litre glass...
Thanks to Phil and this other chicka we met for draggin my ass back to the hostel. Man, what a night... So drunnk when I woke up this mornin, and then hungover as the day progressed... I do not think I can drink beer again. My god, that was a hell of a lot of alcohol... 4.5 litres (at least!) of beer, and a heck of a glass of vodka oj (although vodka was literally just in it for colouring..)

My god, beer is evil.
Phil is strong. He carried me from the toilet to the bed. Oh dear god, what a night.

This is the last night of Munich for us.. Salzburg is next, then to Switzerland and then Paris to go home... Party is a must when I get back.. but not beer... god, no beer..

:)
Cheers all!
